This week we welcomed Year 10 Bridgnorth Endowed School student Gabe, to the Buy-From team for work-experience. We always enjoy giving students insights into the busy and diverse world of marketing!
As he rounded off the week with us, we took the opportunity to reflect on how he has enjoyed his time…

What made you choose Buy-From for your Work Experience?
I had heard of Buy-From was keen to know more about what happens here. I have a passion for being a fashion designer and I thought working in a creative agency would be hugely beneficial to my future career as I would gain practical information to maximise my future brand potential. Working at Buy-From was a no-brainer for me.
What have you enjoyed the most since being here?
Since I have been here I have learnt many insightful skills and I have enjoyed looking at a range of small businesses’ social media platforms to show them what they are doing well and what they might need to work on to maximise the benefits of social media platforms.
Is there anything that took you by surprise while working in a Marketing Agency?
It was a surprise to see how much work it took to digitally design something and knowing about the social media algorithms was surprising – as they can change at any moment.
What are the main skills you’ve learned this week?
I think I have become quite skilful on social media, and I feel I know what the algorithm wants and I am able to differentiate the brand’s social media presence – from the not so good to great.
What’s been your favourite part of this week?
My favourite part has been going to the Amplify Your Brand event that Buy-From hosted at The Wroxeter Hotel. I really enjoyed the event and thought it was a huge success, it was extremely fulfilling for me, and I learnt many new skills. I took part in the 3 workshops and I found it incredibly interesting, I really enjoyed the day!
I enjoyed conversing with the business owners and discovering the journeys their brands have taken.
Was there any particular task or project that you enjoyed the most?
I enjoyed working on the social media MOT that was given out to the business owners who participated in the Amplify Your Brand event. I liked seeing how different brands advertise themselves and their ethos.
How do you think this work experience will prepare you for the rest of your school life and future career?
I think this work experience suits my passions and the more intel I gain, the easier it will be in my future career to do the best I can to expand and maximise my brand.
I can also decipher what I should focus on in my school life to ultimately achieve my future pathway, this work experience has made me see a clear path to achieve my passion without being overzealous.
Thanks for all your help this week Gabe, and best of luck with your exciting future!
