Ludlow Food Festival - Mawley Town Farm to donate all profits to Little Heart Matters!
With just one week to go until the prestigious Ludlow Food Festival will be underway, we check in with Rachel from Mawley Milk – one of our fabulous Buy-From clients!
The Mawley Town Farm family adventure began in 1978 when David and Margaret Robinsons and their young children moved from Northern Ireland to the farm in Shropshire. As a result of hard work and forward thinking, the farm has developed into what it is today. Using a wealth of husbandry knowledge and assisted by latest technology, the business is built on the core belief of ensuring the best animal welfare. Equally important to the Robinson’s is supporting British manufacturing hence the tractors are New Hollands, built in Essex, and JCB’s built in Staffordshire. In addition, the Automatic Milking System is manufactured by Fullwood in Shropshire. We love that supporting local is such a strong part of what Mawley Town Farm do.
This will be their first time exhibiting at Ludlow Food Festival and they will be exhibiting within the Buy-From Shropshire area (Buy-From’s little sister). They will have a delicious milkshake menu on offer, made of course with their very own fresh milk!
What we are delighted to announce to you all, is that Mawley Town will also be donating ALL profits from the Festival to the Little Hearts Matter charity. This charity has a very special place in the Robinson family’s hearts following their son, Sam, undergoing extensive heart surgery when he was younger.
Rachel tells us, “Little Hearts Matter is a small national charity who offer a lifeline of support and information to families who’s children are born with half a heart. Our own son, born in 2006 has this rare, incurable heart disease. By the age of 7 he had already had 4 palliative open-heart surgeries. I want to donate our profits to LHM to raise awareness and vital funds so they can continue to help families like ours.”
We think this is a truly amazing and we ask that you all go and enjoy a delicious Mawley Milkshake, supporting this great charity at the same time.
