Meet Jess, our COO and the driving force behind Buy-From. From early mornings in the stables to keeping a busy agency running smoothly, here’s how she stays productive and why building long-term client relationships matters most.

What’s your go-to productivity hack?

Whilst the world in which we are working is largely paperless, having a handwritten daily priority list is essential to help keep things on track. Who doesn’t love a notepad?

What part of your role do you enjoy most?

I enjoy building long-term relationships with our clients, knowing their businesses like an extension of their team, and celebrating their wins with them. Working with a collection of talented creatives here in the studio is also joyful – especially when we all get our heads together and brainstorm.

What does your role as COO involve day to day?

Running a busy marketing agency means that there’s forever variety, creativity and tight deadlines. The mental agility required to keep everything on the road and deliver the very best for our clients is both thrilling and challenging in good measure.

What do you enjoy most about being part of this team?

The brilliant dynamics and team spirit. There has long been a culture at Buy-From for finding joy in what you do and truly supporting each other – another reason behind our motto ‘We Do Good Stuff for Good People.’

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Wearing my other hat as a mum of two, life is busy! I’m a country girl through and through, so whenever I can, it’s about spending time outdoors. Most often, that is being out and about with my horses. They can teach you the real meaning of hard work and resilience, that’s for sure.

Coffee or tea?

Ooh that’s a tough one – it would depend on the time of day. An Earl Grey tea is the perfect start to my mornings, but I also have been known to charge through multiple cups of coffee during a workday!

Early bird or night owl?

Early bird, through and through. First thing in the morning, when the world is quiet, is time for getting ahead and having a positive start to the day. Early morning  ‘me time’ at the moment is spent doing stable duties with a good podcast for company!
